Interconnectedness

This quote gets me thinking--what if one moment in my day didn't exist? Would I still end up where I am now? What if a moment had been replaced with another or altered in some way? Might I still think the same things I am thinking now? And if I am happy now, then do I owe my gratitude to every moment that has made up my life thus far?

ReplyDeleteI love the way your post got me thinking - thanks! In fact, it reminds me quite a bit of Borges' writing. I'd recommend checking out some of his short stories like "Aleph" and "Zahir" if you want to play with this concept some more. Both what you and forker girl said have me visualizing moments as a sort of honeycomb, where the physical structure of the comb itself represent moments and the honey that bleeds through represents touch. Very cool!
