Photojournalism
Tsunami origin:
late 19th century: from Japanese, from tsu "harbor" + nami "wave"

This is so interesting to me as I initially thought it was an abstract photo of crayons. What I think it so interesting is the ability the mind has to identify shapes with certain memories. The idea of coding becomes of interest. Rather than ascribing a political connotation, I thought about an artistic movement. It just goes to show the endless possibilities- in terms of memory and identity- that are encoded in visual culture.
