I've been distracted, enthralled and captivated by these haunting images of what's currently going on in Japan. These look like building blocks. The power of sea water.

This is so interesting to me as I initially thought it was an abstract photo of crayons. What I think it so interesting is the ability the mind has to identify shapes with certain memories. The idea of coding becomes of interest. Rather than ascribing a political connotation, I thought about an artistic movement. It just goes to show the endless possibilities- in terms of memory and identity- that are encoded in visual culture.
